West London Deep
Latest track – “Let me Go”
I began my musical career in the late 80s, working with house music pioneers such as David Holmes and Rocky & Diesel (X-Press 2) before forming the highly regarded techno outfit, Innersphere. With Andy Weatherall, as Lords of Afford, I toured the UK and Europe and appeared live on Radio One’s Annie Nightingale show and on the late John Peel’s Sessions.
In 2004 I recorded a track with reggae legend Big Youth for Wall Of Sound’s imaginative Two Culture Clash album, entitled “Rudie No!“, and my remix of Bent’s single “Comin’ Back” received rave reviews and appeared on the Ministry Annual Summer compilation.
As West London Deep, I’ve recorded many successful singles by myself and in collaboration, including one of Pete Tong’s Essential New Tunes, “You’re Taking Me Over” (subsequently redone as “Gonna Make You My Lover”).
The West London Deep single “Inside My Head“, featuring vocals by (sic). Man, was released to great acclaim. Lottie, standing in for Pete Tong on Radio One’s Essential Selection, described it as “a big, big room tune”. Tongy played it as part of his Weekend Hot Mix, and it made the DMC Buzz Chart top ten. “Another piece of dance floor destruction” was their opinion, “watch this one fly.”
“Dark Matter” was released at the end of 2005 as another limited edition white label and, on its first week of release, Tongy once again played it as part of his Weekend Hot Mix. He played it two more times in his Weekend Hot Mix and played it as part of the Buzz Chart when it went top ten.
As a remixer I’ve worked on tunes by the likes of Moby, Orbital, Röyksopp, Infadels, Kosheen, Alison Limerick, Apollo 440 and The Dub Pistols, garnering a string of top five Buzz Chart placings in the process.
